U20 World Championship UPDATE: Alistrov, Pavlenko and Belarus claim silver
Vladimir Alistrov and Andrei Pavlenko are currently in Germany representing their country, Belarus, at the 2019 IIHF U20 World Championship – Division I, Group A.
Game 5: Saturday, December 15 – Latvia 3; Belarus 1
Vladimir Alistrov assisted on Belarus’ lone goal of the game as they fell, 3-1, to Latvia in their tournament finale.
Game 4: Thursday, December 13 – Germany 5; Belarus 1
Belarus encountered their first loss of the tournament as they fell to Germany today, 5-1. Final shots on goal were 24-16, Germany.
Game 3: Wednesday, December 12 – Belarus 5; Austria 0
Belarus improved to 3-0 at the tournament with a 5-0 shutout win over Austria on Wednesday.
Vladimir Alistrov had an impressive performance of a pair of goals and an assist and was a +1. Andrei Pavlenko also finished the game with a rating of +1. Final shots on goal were 27-16, Belarus.
Game 2: Monday, December 10 – Belarus 6; France 2
Belarus erased a 1-0 hole, then took a 2-1 lead in the second period. With the game once again tied, 2-2, to start the third period, Belarus scored four straight goals and held on for a 6-2 win over France.
Vladimir Alistrov picked up a pair of assists in the win, while Andrei Pavlenko was a plus/minus rating of +1. Final shots on goal were 38-17, Belarus.
Game 1: Sunday, December 9 – Belarus 5; Norway 3
In their first round robin action, Belarus erased a 3-0 deficit by scoring five unanswered goals to rally to a 5-3 win over Norway. Final shots on goal were 33-26, Belarus.
