Captain Kehler Leads Oil Kings to 4-1 Win Against Blazers

The Edmonton Oil Kings headed back out on the road as they travelled to Kamloops for an early matinee matchup against the Blazers on British Columbia’s Family Day where they picked up two points in the 4-1 victory.

Kamloops opened the scoring on Monday afternoon as left-winger Jackson Shepard picked up his seventh of the season just under two minutes into the first frame. Kehler’s success on the powerplay continued on Monday afternoon as he picked up his 11th powerplay goal of the season midway through the period to give the Oil Kings a 3-1 lead after 40 minutes.

In the third, the Oil Kings would maintain their two-goal lead for most of the period. Ethan Cap would add an empty netter late in the third to secure the victory, kicking off the road trip out West with a win.
