Kemp Scores Overtime Winner to Lift Oil Kings Over Wheat Kings 3-2
Oil Kings Brett Kemp would score the overtime winner on Tuesday night in Brandon to give the Oil Kings a 3-2 victory over the Wheat Kings. Tuesday night’s matchup would mark the first game of a five game road trip for the Oil Kings.
In the game, Oil Kings Matthew Culling would make his WHL debut and Brayden Gorda would return to the Oil Kings roster and play in his first game of the 2017-18 season.

Oil Kings blue liner Jayden Platz picked up his first career Western Hockey League (WHL) goal on Tuesday night in Brandon after his one timer beat Wheat Kings goaltender Dylan Myskiw at 2:26 of the second frame. Oil Kings Gorda would pick up his first point of the season with an assist on the play.

Oil Kings Brett Kemp would score the overtime winner to give Edmonton the victory at 2:03 of the overtime period. David Kope and Matthew Robertson would pick up the assists on the play.
