Oil Kings ranked for third straight week

Edmonton, AB – For the first time in the modern era of the franchise the Edmonton Oil Kings have been ranked for the third straight week in the BMO CHL Mastercard Top 10 Rankings. The Canadian Hockey League today announced the BMO CHL MasterCard Top 10 Rankings for this week and the Oil Kings have been risen to seventh in the Canadian Hockey League. This follows the past two weeks when Edmonton was ranked eighth.

The Edmonton Oil Kings returned to action on the road this past week following the WHL Christmas Break (December 19th to 26th) with four games in the WHL East Division. Edmonton took five of a possible eight points with a 7-2 win over Saskatoon on December 27th, a 4-3 shootout loss to Moose Jaw December 28th and a 7-1 Win over Brandon on December 30th. Edmonton enters this week’s action leading the Eastern Conference with a record of 25-10-1-3, good for 54 points.

The Oil Kings are 7-2-0-1 in their last ten games and return home this week for a trio of home games. Edmonton currently holds one of the best home records in the WHL at 16-3-0-0 and their loss on December 18th was their first at home since October 14th.
