Preview: Oil Kings @ Rebels – February 9, 2018
LAST GAME: The Edmonton Oil Kings took on the Medicine Hat Tigers on Wednesday night in Medicine Hat where they were ultimatley defeated 6-0. The Tigers opened up the scoring quickly into the rst frame as Tyler Preziuso beat Oil Kings netminder Josh Dechaine at 2:43 to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead. Medicine Hat would score three more goals in the rst period to nish the period with a 4-0 lead. In the third period, the Tigers would add two more goals courtesy of Gary Haden and Josh Williams late in the frame to close out the game with a 6-0 win over the Oil Kings. The Oil Kings will face off against the Tigers two more times this season on February 27 at Rogers Place for the Oil Kings annual Hockey Hooky game and on March 9 to close out the season series at the Canalta Centre.

OIL KINGS VS. Rebels: The Oil Kings will play the Rebels for the fth time this season on Friday night. Through their four previous meetings this season, the Oil Kings have put up a record of 2-2-0-0. The last time these two teams played one another was on Thursday, December 28 at Rogers Place. In the game, the Oil Kings defeated the Rebels 4-3 in overtime. Defenceman Conner McDonald would score the goal to tie the game 3-3 at 11:10 of the third frame. Trey Fix-Wolansky would score the overtime winner at 4:48 of the overtime period, Conner McDonald and Brett Kemp tallied the assists on the play. The Oil Kings will close out their season series against the Rebels on Saturday afternoon at Rogers Place.
