LAST GAME: The Edmonton Oil Kings continued their B.C. road trip on Friday night as they visited the Giants at the Langley Events Centre falling 2-1. In the rst frame, just 14 seconds in, Giants Tyler Benson opened up the scoring to give Vancouver
a quick 1-0 lead. Minutes later left-winger Brayden Watts added a powerplay marker for the Giants to make it 2-0 after 20 minutes. In the second period, Oil Kings Brett Kemp would net his 14th of the season to put Edmonton on the board and make it 2-1 through 40 minutes. The Giants would hang on in the third to defeat the Oil Kings 2-1.

OIL KINGS VS. ROCKETS: The Oil Kings will face the Rockets for the second and nal time this season on Saturday night. In their only other meeting this season the Oil Kings were defeated 5-2 by the Rockets on November 14. In that game, Trey Fix-Wolansky would pick up a multi-point game recording 2 points (1G, 1A). Last season, Edmonton put up a record of 0-2-0-1 through three games played against Kelowna.

KING KEMP: With his goal on Friday night against the Giants, Brett Kemp now has three points (1G, 2A) in his last two games. Kemp’s goal was the only goal scored by Edmonton in the contest against Vancouver and marked Kemp’s 14th goal of the season. With the goal, Kemp now sits fourth on the team in goals scored.
TWO STRAIGHT: Oil Kings defenceman Matthew Robertson recorded an assist on teammate Brett Kemp’s goal on Friday night, with the assist Robertson has now picked up assists in two straight games. In his last two games, Robertson has a total of three assists.
HELPING HAND: Oil Kings Conner McDonald picked up a helper against the Giants on Friday night marking his 29th assist of the season. McDonald has collected ve assists in his last ve games and sits third on the team in assists.
FRIEND OR FOE: Tomas Soustal will face off against his former team, the Kelowna Rockets on Saturday night. Soustal was acquired by the Oil Kings from the Rockets on October 2, 2017. During his time with Kelowna Soustal played in 175 regular season games collecting 113 points (47G, 66A) and 54 playoff appearances netting 27 points (13G, 14A).
ALL DONE: Saturday night’s matchup against the Rockets will mark the Oil Kings last game played against teams in the B.C. division this season. Through 12 games played against B.C. division rivals so far this season the Oil Kings have put up a record of 3-7-1-1.
