LAST GAME: The Edmonton Oil Kings closed out a three-game road trip on Friday night against the Medicine Hat Tigers where they were defeated 6-4. Tigers captain Mark Rassell opened up the scoring on Friday night, shooting the puck past Todd Scott at 2:46 to give Medicine Hat an early 1-0 lead. Just over five minutes later, David Kope netted his 13th of the season to tie the game. Tigers left-winger Ryan Chyzowski put the Tigers back ahead scoring his 20th of the season on the powerplay to make it 2-1 midway through the frame. Elijah Brown added another goal for the Tigers before time expired in the first period to give Medicine Hat a 3-1 lead over Edmonton through 20 minutes. In the second frame, Ethan Cap sent a quick shot past Tigers netminder Michael Bullion to put Edmonton within one, Jake Neighbours and Liam Keeler picked up the assists on the play. Tigers centreman Jaeger White collected his 10th of the season sending a shot past Todd Scott to give Medicine Hat a 4-2 lead. Late in the period, Bullion would turn the puck over to Oil Kings captain Colton Kehler in front, Kehler would send a one timer to the back of the net to put Edmonton within one heading into the third period. Midway through the third period, defenceman Conner McDonald’s one time shot beat Bullion to tie the game 4-4. At 13:33 of the period, Tigers right-winger Josh Williams scored on the powerplay to put his team ahead by one. James Hamblin added another goal on the powerplay late in the period to give Medicine Hat a 6-4 lead. The Tigers would hang on to knock off the Oil Kings 6-4.

OIL KINGS VS. ICE: The Edmonton Oil Kings will close out their six-game season series with the Kootenay ICE on Sunday afternoon at Rogers Place. Through their previous five meetings this season, the Oil Kings have put up a record of 3-1-1-0. The last time these two teams played against one another was on Wednesday, January 31 in Cranbrook, BC. In that game, Edmonton had five different goal scorers: Trey Fix-Wolansky, Tomas Soustal, Nick Bowman, Brett Kemp and Colton Kehler in the 5-2 Oil Kings victory.

BACK-TO-BACK: Oil Kings forward David Kope recorded his third multi-point game of the season collecting two points (1G, 1A) on Friday night. With his first period goal on Friday night against Medicine Hat, Kope now has goals in back-to-back games.

THREE STRAIGHT: Oil Kings captain Colton Kehler scored late in the second period on Friday night against the Tigers, marking the third game in a row that Kehler has netted a goal. The last time Kehler got goals in three consecutive games was January 19-24 when the captain put up 4 goals in three games.

THE LAST STAND: On Sunday afternoon, the Edmonton Oil Kings will kick off their final home stand of the 2017-18 regular season. The team will play three games in seven nights at Rogers Place.
