LAST GAME: The Edmonton Oil Kings closed out a six-game road trip on Friday night as they visited the Red Deer Rebels for game one of a back-to-back against the Rebels this weekend. The Oil Kings would strike rst on Friday night as Kobe Mohr would take a nice feed from Brendan Semchuk in front sending it past Lamb to make it 1-0 Oil Kings just 26 seconds into the game. Brendan Semchuk and Wyatt McLeod would pick up the helpers on the play. The Rebels would also score in the rst courtesy of Mason McCarty to make it 1-1 after the rst frame. In the second period, the Rebels would score three goals, two from Kristian Reichel and one from Arshdeep Bains to give Red Deer a 4-1 after 40 minutes. In the third period, Reichel would score his third goal of the game ooding the ice with hats at Enmax Centrium for the hat trick. Midway through the frame, David Kope would score an unassisted shorthanded goal to make it 5-2. Rebels Brandon Hagel and Hunter Donohoe would add two more to make it a 7-2 nal.

OIL KINGS VS REBELS: The Oil Kings will play the Rebels for the sixth and nal time this season on Saturday afternoon at Rogers Place. Through their ve previous meetings this season, the Oil Kings have put up a record of 2-3-0-0. The last time these two teams played one another was on Friday, February 9 at the Enmax Centrium. In the game, the Oil Kings were defeated by the Rebels by a nal score of 7-2. Oil Kings Kobe Mohr and David Kope would score the two goals for Edmonton on the night. The last time these two teams met at Rogers Place was on Thursday, December 28 at Rogers Place.

GOOD TO BE HOME: The Oil Kings will return home to Rogers Place on Saturday afternoon, the last time the team has played on home ice was on Wednesday, January 24 against the Medicine Hat Tigers. However, the homecoming will be short lived as Edmonton will play just a single game at home before heading back out on the road to start a four-game road trip on Monday.

50TH POINT: Oil Kings left-winger Kobe Mohr recorded his 50th career Western Hockey League (WHL) point on Friday night against the Rebels as he scored the rst goal of the game. With the goal Mohr now has 50 points (18G, 32A) in his 156 career WHL games with Edmonton.

GO SHORTY: Oil Kings right-winger David Kope netted his eighth goal of the season on Friday night in Red Deer, the goal was scored shorthanded at 10:02 of the third frame. Kope now leads the team in shorthanded goals this season with two.

UP NEXT: The Oil Kings will head back on the road after their matchup against the Rebels on Saturday afternoon as they open up a four-game road trip out West against the Kamloops Blazers. Puck drop is 3:00 PM MT.
