Oil Kings partner with Hockey Gives Blood for 2019-20 season

The Edmonton Oil Kings are pleased to announce their continued partnership with Hockey Gives Blood for the upcoming 2019-20 season.

Hockey Gives Blood is a non-profit society that has partnered with Canadian Blood Services in an effort to engage and educate the hockey community about the importance of blood and stem cell donation. The initiative was founded in 2018 by former hockey players – including Oil Kings assistant coach Luke Pierce – all of whom were seeking to build something that is positive, long-lasting, and is a tool for the hockey community to make a positive impact at every level.

The group is dedicated to encouraging members of the hockey community to help save lives and ensure that patients in Canada have access to blood and blood products where and when they need them.

The 2019-20 season will mark the second consecutive year the Oil Kings have lent their efforts to helping out this worthwhile cause and spreading awareness for Hockey Gives Blood, coinciding with both the inception of the program and the appointment of Pierce as the team’s assistant coach.

Throughout the season, the Oil Kings will take part in various events and promotions with Hockey Gives Blood to encourage and promote blood donation. Stay tuned throughout the year as to how you can get involved at team events and information sessions.
