WHL announces draft lottery results

Edmonton, AB – The Western Hockey League conducted its Draft Lottery ahead of the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft slated for December 9, 2021 today.

The Edmonton Oil Kings hold two first-round picks for the upcoming draft, their own, as well as the Kelowna Rockets’ following the December 14, 2019 trade that sent defenceman Conner McDonald to the Rockets in exchange for their 2021 first round pick and 2023 third round pick.

Following today’s Draft Lottery results, the Oil Kings will hold the 13th overall selection (via Kelowna) and the 19th overall selection in the first round of the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft.
